I. The City Below
Far deeper than any earth-dweller city lies a kingdom lost to time and darkness.
History records only a handful of survivors — citizens who escaped a terrible fate.
They spoke of a cult-like society, twisted in its devotion, yet a marvel the world will never see again.
 
II. The Lunafen Discovery
Their miners unearthed a rare strain of metal known as Lunafen Copper — said to pulse whenever the moon, many leagues above, shone in the sky.
The king, enthralled by its glow, forged a crown from it. Soon after, his mind began to fracture.
In his final obsession, he ordered the remaining Lunafen melted down and injected into his veins, believing it would let him commune with the moon itself.
He did not survive the act.
 
III. The Aftermath
For a brief time, peace returned to the buried city.
Then came the sound — the ringing of metal upon stone — and out of the shadows emerged a figure of living Lunafen, impervious to weapon and flame alike.
It tore through the city until nothing living remained.
 
IV. The Forging
Few adventurers dare to seek the ruins, though some claim to hear the echo of heavy footsteps deep below.
How you discovered this fragment of Lunafen Copper, we’ll never know — but when it touched the forge, it began to glow beneath the night sky.
A strange clarity filled the room, and we had to stop one of the apprentices from climbing a tree to reach the moon.
